Tod's Gommino Driving Shoe has such continued success

Now what could I possibly have to say in the negative light about the Tod's Gommino Driving Shoe ? Durability. Yes, you may have heard the rumors somewhere and I would tell you to believe them. Those little rubber knobs at the bottom? Yeah they don't hold up as long as you'd hope they would. I have probably worn mine 4-5 times and some of the rubber knobs on the corner of the heel are starting to show their wear. I know they are rubber, but you would think they'd last longer than that amount of time.

A secondary effect of this issue is that it wears into the leather of the heel as well. Mine already show some wear in the heel as well as a little in the front. To some this may not be a big issue, but to others it does leave some thought on purchasing them. I have heard that the issue is repairable with a cobbler. If you do buy a pair of Tod's Sale take them to you're cobbler to see what preventive measures they have. Tod's are fabulous shoes and a classic Italian brand that I think everybody should have in their wardrobe. The Tod's Gommino Driving Shoe does have the durability problem, but the pros outweigh the cons by far.
